If you do a little research you will see that the term "shouting" in the Bible has nothing to do with old time Pentecostal "shouting".
Of course ACTUAL "shouting" is a shout whether from the lips of a jew or Pentecostal. This discussion was not about biblical "shouting" but about what Pentecostals call "shouting".
CC1, I'm confused! What exactly is old time Pentecostal "shouting"? I don't consider twitching, jerking, and doing the helicopter to be the same as shouting! Shouting is making a loud noise, maybe like a whoop and a holler!

I love to watch our new people praise. Not all of them are demonstrative, but when they are worshipping and praying, whether it's with a dance or a tear... something always stirs inside of me. God is so good!

That is how I see it....
But I think I understand what CC1 is saying because I have heard people say that they "shouted all over the place" when in reality, they danced all over the place in a wild, uncontrolled way.... which is dancing....and is different than shouting....but in a different way! LOL

In old time Oneness Pentecost "shouting" has traditionally referred to behaviour that could include making a loud noise like a whoop or hollar but mostly meant individual "dancing" (for lack of a better word) that usually involved bucking, jerking, spinning, twirling, or some combination thereof. Also jumping, leaping, hopping ,etc.
Over time some shouting has gained nicknames like the "helicopter" where one spins while ones arms are outstretched.
Are you new to Pentecost? I am surprised that you only thought of "shouting" as whooping or hollaring. No wonder we have been talking past each other somewhat.

Maybe they danced and shouted at the same time!

BINGO!!!! What you described better than I just did in my post is what "shouting" has typically been thought of in old time Pentecost.

I totally understand what CC1 is saying. It is common for someone to say, "then he took off shouting" meaning dancing/running in an uncontrolled fashion. It is accompanied with voice or not. The term "shouting" in Pentecostal circles does not require voice.
