Re: Do u allow Running,Shouting,Dancing in your ch

I am absolutely in favor. shocka moo! Though i myself came from a baptist backgraoud, and didn't ever go to church, except here and there with a friend. I am pretty mild in worship, but there have been a couple times I really danced. I can remember one time in particular, that was so amazing, it was like a dream. God's spirit was all over me, I ran around the church, danching, and leaping, and singing in tongues. We only had a church of about 15 people, and the piano was the only music. The Spirit of God moved so, that when I came "down" I was singing the song near the platform, whereas the guy on the piano had took off running, and the lone singer had took to dancing. There had not been any music for about 30 seconds, we were so lost in worship we didn't even know. Awesome, I don't see how anyone could have an issue with that.

I don't get the "allow" part of the question. Are people actually told that they can or cannot?

Re: Do u allow Running,Shouting,Dancing in your ch

as a followup though, I am all for worship, but i do think it should be decently and in order. To me to dance before the Lord with all your might is decent and in order, to shout (Hallalejah, Praise God,etc) is in order. Now I don't know about "the helicopter" I'm not judging, but if someone did that in the church I pastor, unless God strongly impressed me it was of Him, I would have to ask the person to have more self control.

his past sunday, I told the congregation that involvement in praise and worship is allowed in this church, and ENCOURAGED, however I told them that God loves spontaneous worship, you don't have to do anything you are uncomfortable with. I also told them as for dancing, that if they want to dance in the Lord that is great, and even mentioned David. Now if you want to breakdance or moonwalk, there are other places for that.

I think that pure worship is completely biblical and pleases God. I think there is definetly some fleshly "worship" going on, which makes me uncomfortable. One thing am not comfortable with is someone who seems to be runing ust because. Like they are not running full speed (not that speed matters-that is not my point) but just make a quick lap aroung the pews at about a half jog, and return to their place and what they were doing. It bothers me because it is almost like a habit, but not heartfelt. God is the judge and he knows the heart, not me. All I'm saying is I love pure worship of God, you can feel it, even if it is on someone else. And the more shockamoo the better, IMO. But I DO NOT like when it seems that people are simply doing something for the sake of doing something. I have heard it said by some that if you don't feel the Spirit run/dance anyhow in the flesh and at somepoint God will take over. I don't think I agree, but to be honest, I have never done it, becausme I am leery of "doing" something in the flesh to the point of I will just stand at my pew rather thatn start trying to dance in the flesh. And I can't dance, so if it is not God, I am going to look REALLY STUPID. Amen
