Re: Do u allow Running,Shouting,Dancing in your ch

I don't shouted or danced in years, mostly because of bad knee's...BUT I love to be were there is a service with that happening. Neither of the two church that I have attended over the past 20 years has dancing.

There is lots of running and jumping, but a good old fashioned "shouting and dancing til you are drunk in the spirit" I have not experienced or seen in at at least 20 years (except at Texas Camp Meeting).

I would honestly love to be where the spirit takes over and there is a service with just "Dancing like David Danced". I desire this!

Re: Do u allow Running,Shouting,Dancing in your ch

Where do y'all go to church? Please tell me who makes you shout or not shout. I just don't get it, is there a no shouting zone? Is there a dancing only zone? So someone dances, someone doesn't shout, it is between them and God, it doesn't or shouldn't matter what anyone else thinks or feels.
From reading this thread it's like in some people's churches every service is filled with running, shouting, and dancing. In other's, oh it is not allowed because it's flesh.
Well why not, we police everything else, clothes, or lack thereof, make-up, or lack thereof.
I'm more this than you, you are less this than me.

When we get to heaven we will be singing a song the angels cannot sing, a song of the redeemed. We will WORSHIP our Savior. I want to laugh with Jesus, I want to dance with Jesus, I want to sing with Jesus.
I love the quiet of the Spirit of God moving in a service, the reverence.
But I also love the Singing, the shouting, and even the dancing to the Lord.
Sometimes I cry out to Jesus in a LOUD voice, when I am in unimaginable pain. Or when I shout out my love for Him.
Sometimes I don't speak, I just am with Jesus.
Lord help me never to judge anyone's worship. Especially my brother's or sister's.

I agree, cneasttx. I would be afraid to look at someone else dancing before the Lord, and think, "They are just in the 'flesh.'" Seems like I recall something about David's wife displeasing the Lord with her critical thoughts....

We should be careful about denying the experiences of others (with God), and we ought to be VERY careful about assigning motives to hearts, when only GOD can see into a man's heart.

I have been guilty of that in the past, and have also been judged by this or that. I found out the only one I should be worrying about pleasing is Jesus. If I look like an idiot, oh well, sorry I am going to Praise my Jesus, so the rocks don't cry out. I will be one less stone.

I agree with the judging part, but I have known more than a few that danced before the Lord in church and later it was revealed that they had major sin in their life at the time.

I won't begrudge anyone rejoicing in the Lord. I think it's a beautiful thing.

I agree! I really do not notice what is going on around me when I am praising the Lord. It really is between Him and I. But saying that, I desire to be in a shockamoo service!

And I've known more than a few that sang or played music in praise to God and it was later revealed that they had major sin in their life at the time.

Furthermore, PM, there have been times when things in my personal life were NOT up to par, and coming to church and continuing to worship God and do all the right things anyway--that was the only thing that "saved" me.

I recently heard a husband tell (and I think this is a common story) about fighting with his wife on the way to church, and then his wife got into service, and worshiped God like nothing was wrong. He was really irritated by that, and thought, "Who does she think she is? How can she pray and worship like everything is fine?" So after church he asked her, "Why were you praying and worshiping like that, when we had just been fighting?" To which the wife replied, "I was mad at you--not at God."

Now, I understand the concepts of sin coming between us and God, and I also understand that if we have a problem with a brother or sister, it can hinder our relationship with God, but on the other hand, there is a time for laying it all down and giving God His Time anyway. And I don't call that hypocrisy. I think it's kind of self-centered to walk into church and sit all down in the dumps and upset with yourself and having a pity party because you did something wrong the day before. Get over it, tell God you're sorry, and worship Him like He deserves to be worshiped!

That's my sermon for today.

I'm gonna zoom, zoom zoom,
around the room, room, room,
I'm gonna zoom around the room, and praise the Lord,
when those gates swing open wide, I'm gonna sit down by His side
til then, I'm gonna zoom around the room and praise the Lord

LOL!!!! I think we need MORE running and dancing in Apostolic churches. And a softball game afterwards with a low-cal dinner on the grounds.
