Isn't that supposed to be what the Holy Ghost is all about? Teaching and Guiding, and Counseling?

I can't understand it. I have never met a group that focus on the Baptism of the Spirit more than Apostolics, yet they seem to lack the faith that it is Strong enough to talk to those he inhabits.

How can you preach Jesus and not preach on sins? Jesus mentioned them a lot!

One can preach against sin without having to naming a sin in the process.

I don't even see what the problem is with naming sins? Is it that the sinner gets offended? Well if he is humble and knows he needs to repent why would he be offended? I mean you can possibly say it in an offensive way, but simply pointing out what a sin is in God's mind is not offensive.

Has anyone watched those guys on The Way of the Master do it?

Brother, I am going to share an experience I had a few years ago. Because of the UC background I had, I was very much used to preachers getting up and preaching against sin and then naming off a list of them. It was pretty much ingrained into what I'd normally expect from a preacher when preaching against sin.

Well, I ended up leaving that church and went to one that would be considered moderate to liberal, depending on who was doing the deciding. The day came when the pastor got up and preached against sin. He talked about where sin would lead us, why we needed to resist it, etc. etc. He did everything except name some sins.

I went home very disappointed. Here this preacher had done such a wonderful job with preaching against sin and its effect and had totally dropped the ball by not naming some sin. As was my custom, I prayed over what I'd heard and that's when something beautiful happened. God showed me something I needed to change in my life! God showed me an area I was failing in, without a preacher having to call me out, get redfaced, call me into the office, etc.

I realized, through this experience, that God doesn't necessarily need a preacher to name sins for Him to be able to convict people over them. All the preacher has to do is get people to be open to hear the call of God. Preachers can do that without having to name specific sins. Do I think there are times when God wants the preacher to name a specific sin? Yes. Do I think the preacher has to specifically name sin for God to be able to convict sinners? No.

So, this law doesn't bother me one bit, because I know God is gonna do His thing law or no law. He isn't limited to just one way of reaching the sinner. He is the Master of all that pertains to reaching the lost.

I did not say where it was said that it was a problem to name sins, but that one can preach against sin without specifically naming them. Most sinners know they are and what their sins are.

However, I say that only to turn around and say that I do believe that the consciouses of men are becoming so that people are blind to their sin. I wonder sometimes about whether or not people who live together realize that they are living a sinful lifestyle...or even if they care. How do these people even learn that they are in sin if it is not named?

It will be interesting to watch what unfolds regarding this new law. I'm sure that freedom of religion and speech will come up. Then the liberals will say that it is a hate crime....
