This is not entirely true. They study herbs and other things that have shown promising relief for certain conditions and then see how they can use it and improve it. They study it as a science. They don't do voodoo incantations. God made this planet and the herbs.
Most of the time they are just studying compounds in a lab, not out dancing sky clad with native witch doctors
