Dear Mr. Pressing On. Teach your dog to fetch a stick... then throw the stick onto the freeway.

Ferd, you are simply hilarious. I'm going to have to put all of your instructions together!

Yes, he has grown and we are best buddies! I am really enjoying having him. Although my husband isn't. lol
Wow, I can't believe your dog is chewing on electrical cords!!! I do hope she has learned a lesson.
I don't have mine in the house very much so it doesn't give him time to chew on anything - well after the remote. We are still using it.
I would like for him to come in the house during the day when it's really hot but he follows me around every time I move and I don't have time to pay attention to him every minute.
He also has that outside smell and I don't know what to do about it. I can't bath him every day. Not only would that be a pain, but it would interfere with the natural oil in his coat.
Any suggestions?
BTW, your avatar is creepy!!!

PO,
You may want to use bath wipes along with doggy cologne every other day, which can be purchased at Walmart or PetSmart. Another option is using a very fine oatmeal like the Aveano oatmeal you get for itching..Not only does it eliminate the smell but it also can help with dry itchy skin. You will have to brush his coat thoroughly to get the excess oatmeal out. If you don't want to incur the expense of buying Aveano, just take a cup of regular oatmeal and ground it up in my food processor until very fine.
Also, you can sprinkle corn starch on his coat and work it in then brush it out to help eliminate the odor.
I would suggest you put Roscoe in a cool garage or in the house during these hot days of summer. If it is hot for you, it will be miserable for him. Just think if you were outside with a coat on...
My avatar is going bye,bye tonight. I was glad I could finally use that pic that I have had for months.

Thanks. He starts running when he sees me pick up the Bath and Body Works spray. lol I have some foaming shampoo for a dry bath. It's just getting him to cooperate.
I picked up some Comfortis from the Vet the other day. It does wonders for fleas. We treated our yard as well.
He can go under the house during the day, which he does. We bought a clapboard house and I have enjoyed the remodeling process, which is always an ongoing thing. We had to do a total makeover and are not finished yet. Lots of work. Anyway, I like it much better than the brick home we had before this one.
Thanks for the suggestions.
Glad you got rid of the avatar. Kind scary and creepy!!

Your welcome.
Remodeling a house can be a lot of fun...and a lot of work. I didn't know how much work I was in for when I bought my home. I have wondered if it would ever be completed.
Roscoe sounds like he likes the outdoors. For a big dog, that usually is the best place for them to romp and roam.
BTW, stayed tuned for more SCARY and CREEPY avatars!

It has been fun doing the remodeling. I think one of my bathrooms has been painted 5 times. (lol) Finally got what I wanted! (lol)
My kitchen cabinets haven been painted a couple of times. I antiqued them this last time and painted a faux ceramic tile look on the back splash. Loved doing that. I took on that project after a hurricane came through. We were without electricity for three days. My husband and son went to Austin when it was over and I just wanted to stay home. So I stayed up all night and finished the job.
Yes, Roscoe is definitely an outdoor dog, but he loves when I let him in the house, which isn't often. I throw a blanket on my overstuffed chair so he won't be wallowing around on the actual fabric.
Okay, I'll be on the lookout for the SCARY and CREEPY avatars.
