Now, on principle, am I doing that to "attract attention to [my]self?"
Or am I just looking pretty and taking advantage of my husband's generous nature?
Sometimes folks act like its a sin to look nice. Do you think that if I walk through the grocery store on Sunday after church in a nice suit and heels that I don't attract any attention? If for no other reason than I'm dressed up!

That is plain silly & so far out of reach & you should know it.
Clothing ain't optional.
Necklaces, Earrings, Baubles, & Rings are just that---optional & totally unnecessary.

Re: Folks COMMANDED to Remove Ornaments.
Should all of the older sisters who wear cameos be made to stop?
Should golden colored eyeglass frames be banned or metal belt buckles ?

Re: Folks COMMANDED to Remove Ornaments.
We should be drawing attention to Jesus and not ourselves.
Do folks who drive fancy automobiles to church drawing attention to themselves ?
Are they prideful for driving SUVS,and Cadillacs to church ?

Re: Folks COMMANDED to Remove Ornaments.
What about wearing expensive suits and ties and women having fancy hairdo's? Isn't that all prideful?

Of course clothing isn't optional. But you do get to choose whether you dress up, dress down, wear a classy suit or wear the cheap dimestore version.
I'm just pointing to motives--you pointed out "attracting attention" as if it is a bad thing--I'm saying we attract attention when we dress up. Find another argument. (One that isn't so plain silly)

Re: Folks COMMANDED to Remove Ornaments.
The illogic ... poor interpretation of the bible and editing out context and unfavorable verses is making these false doctrines irrelevant.
