Because there is no price to pay, just come and receive Glory, Blessing, touches etc.

I advocate all of the above, but true transformation is being re-created into the image of the Son of God, that requires discipleship and the carnal man being subjected to the Spirit man. This does come about by experiencing falling out, being blown on, feeling the anointing etc. It comes about by being broken in the inner man, trials of faith, exercising your spiritual muscles, that never does draw a crowd in my opinion.

I wish more people were able to see it this way. In my experience, there is so much more true joy in a really deep experience with God, as you are referring to. I think that is why so many people don't ultimately succeed in their walks with God, they choose, knowingly or otherwise, a superficial experience.

Very good thooughts Keith. Being a man who is into the gifts of
the spirit, what brought you to this point of thinking?
I can honestly say that our church has always been open to the
gifts but more often then not, it always came back to bite us.

I also think we have to be careful not to get a point where we
abhore any outward manifestations or exuberant worship. I've
see people go from one extreme to the other

I can't control who they let in the pulpit at any conference. In my opinion it is very easy to have a powerful, exciting service without resorting to "hype". We do it all the time.

I think YC is for the most part what it needs to be, a lot of these kids come from smaller churches with not a lot going for the youth. So, in that setting, I don't have a problem with it being mostly hype and excitement, the kids need to get fired up. But then they start to grow and mature in their relationship with God, and their needs should change.

I am never comfortable with putting down other denominations or the typical "the whole world is going to hell, but we are right, bless God" types of statements that I hear at a lot of events.

it was a joke mister! yes, i go to church w/LG..although according to your little holiness test a while back, she and i might as well go on and join the charismatics b/c we failed it miserably! nevertheless, our church is very much UPC.
