Re: ???..Has Anyone Heard of A Reverand Daryll Hop

By the way I know the inside story on how he got asked to preach this meeting when Jack Cunningham couldn't make it.

Someone on the pulpit committee spoke up and said "What names do we have in the hopper" and in the confusion someone thought he said "we ought to get Bro. Hopper".

The rest is history as they say!!!!!

LOL!!

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.

"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.

"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

I sincerely hope this thread has caused you no grief...from what I can tell, you did a great job that night--even though you had some 'big shoes" to fill with the cancellation of JC!

I love the fact that some are able to keep their friendships "across the aisle"...I commend you for that!

God bless for sure!
Aisle? There's an aisle?

add a "B" to the left hand ( & Bass) to the second chord

on the word "more" ( isn't it "more" than just a word...)

We also changed it to a D/B on the second "redeemed" of the chorus, it sounds better than the sheet music!
