HELLO!!! I wouldn't call that balance. That's living with one foot on either side of the fence. You live one way at home and then another at church, that's not balance, that's hypocrisy.

I know I'll probably get clobbered but, oh well.

I guess I'm one of those ultra cons who didn't leave.

BTW, let me add, if you attend a church and don't follow the "rules" and make no beans about it, and don't profess to be an Apsotolic or don't profess to be a member of that churchl, that is a totally different thing. But telling someone "I am a member of Bro. so and so's church" that's another thing all together.

#4. Why do you only post when 1stCorinth2v4 is around?

No bad spirit, just honest points and questions.

OK, for your first answer, I am not the one claiming the right to decide who is "apostolic". That is not my judgment to make, and bottom line, it just an arbitrary term.

As to your second answer, you were "told" to call yourself apostolic by my "dads church"? Several points, did the entire church tell you this??? Also, if you have ever had anything to do with my "dads church" you would know that he would NEVER say that he has a church, there is only one church and it is Gods. Finally, on this section, whatever happened or didn't happen, I am absolutely certain that you were never told to call yourself "apolstolic". (sorry, that one was just too easy).

To the third answer, I am not disputing the pants issue with you, I simply wanted to you to tell me where it was that the apostles taught it. Apparently you cannot do that.

The last point is a little too big of a coincidence to me, but whatever.

To wrap this up, I really am not trying to be argumentative, but you and your buddies seem to think that you can throw out known controversial topics and claim, "you aren't looking for a fight." Exactly what kind of response do you anticipate when you flat out tell people that they aren't "apostolic" because they don't believe the way you do.

You can't start an argument, and then say you don't want to fight. It is disingenuous at best.

But still,

When I am away I exercise my liberties... away... far away.. not when I'm anywhere near home.
Now, I can respect that unless you are used in a position of leadership.

I won't clobber you. I have a great deal of respect for you and the mister.

I don't see it as hypocrisy. For the sake of peace I stay clean shaven. I don't want to offend my brothers. I guess I become all things to all men.
I'm going to be leaving soon. Maybe I'll grow some fuzz.. maybe I won't. If I do grow it, when I come home to visit, I'll shave out of respect for the church here.

HI!!!! I called it "balance."

And why would I ever want to "clobber" you? We just see something that I consider a trivial point from different angles. I wouldn't say that Berk's wearing of "shorts" when he's traveling through a desert someplace gives us enough insight to say anything about the "way he lives." And I am assuming that Berk isn't garbed in something unreasonably skimpy here.

Frankly, the sight of his calf tells me nothing more about his pastor than the sight of yours tells me about Coon.

Praise the Lord Sister CoonS. long time no talk to!

what if you have people that attend your church on sunday
but don't really uphold the standards yet let it be known
throughout the community that they are from your church?
We tend to have quite a few of those in my church. We have Visitors
that just come on Sunday morning. and on quite a few occasions,
I'll be someone where in town, at the store, post office, whatever,
and I'll hear someone say " HI Brother Mark" . I'll say HI to be
polite but I'm saying to myself "who in the world is that" ?? lol
A few times they've noticed that i didn't know them and they'll
say something like " don't you know me? I'm come to your church
on Sunday" .
