One instance stands out to me. It was the very late '70's or very early '80's. I was an organist working for an evangelist making only $50 a week with a car note, rent and utilities ( I wasn't married yet ). After I got paid I gave $20 in the offering to cover tithes and an offering. I had earlier in the week made out my budget and had everything covered, but in the moment when I gave that 20 it dawned on me that I was $20 short of paying everything. I didn't complain, but after the morning service I was outside shaking hands and this young man came up to me to shake my hand and he placed some money in my hands. When I turned and looked at my hand there was a $20 bill! I'll never forget that instance of God's grace and goodness to me, even if it was only $20!
