Re: UPC Culture

Ok let's turn the tables...because of my job I interact in prayer with a lot of denominations...until I started this, I never knew people prayed in a group (circle) taking turns praying out loud with a few moments of silence in-between speakers and the rest of the group stays silent while each speaker prays...then a final amen.

They always know when they invite my wife and I cuz we Pennycostals just pray right over em', heeeeee! And sometimes lay on hands to when we feel led!!! Come on sumbody, uuuuh!!!!

I've grown to enjoy this type of prayer. It helps you focus on needs that are not just your own and it also teaches you how to pray. Makes you think about what you are saying.

Thats great for YOU! I believe my prayer is focused, and my Father taught me how to pray a long time ago. I won't get into results, just that I am happy with what God is doing through me and I will leave it at that! I appreciate you man, and I still owe you Old Town Cafe! Gotta run, headed down to Bangor Maine to watch my wife spend some $$$, coming back tonight, whew!

I wasn't suggesting that you don't know how to pray. Sorry if you thought that.

It also allows for everyone to focus on the one prayer and agree together. Not a bad thing at all.

Re: UPC Culture

Maybe someone should start a thread about "Former" UPC Culture...

Sorry, party pooper, spoiling the fun here I know...but its the truth anyhow. The "culture" funnies extend far beyond the UPC ya know. Especially with formers...
