I have no problem with it. I already have several bags. (Thanks to BOOMM)

When I was in France I don't think any of the stores had bags, you had to put the wine and cheese in a backpack.

According to the article, the city of Los Angeles will stop allowing the use of Plastic grocery bags July 1, 2010. Shoppers will need to bring their own bags, or be charged 25 cents for each paper bag. They are hoping that state of California will be doing this by 2012.
Would you begin carrying your own bag?

That's what they've done in England for years.

It was a shock the first time I went to get a few groceries in England. Good thing I didn't buy much!

I think most of Europe is set up this way.
I remember while living in Germany, we stopped at a local market on the way home, as opposed to going to the commissary.
I had NO CLUE that they didn't have bags. (I was young!) We had a shopping cart FULL of groceries that we had to put in our trunk, and then lug up 3 floors to our apartment...with no bags!

Re: BYOB
In Europe they don't buy for a whole week. Usually just a couple of days.

Re: BYOB
It was the same in Ireland when we went last year. You could buy a plastic bag for something like 25 cents. Or a reuseable bag for a buck or so.
