Do Conservatives Incite a Negative Response in you
Yes, this is about standards.... you can leave if you have had your fill.
I have observed some Liberals are very uncomfortable with Christians (or even non-Christians for that matter) who are more conservaitve than they are themselves.
As a Liberal:
1. Do you feel anger or a rightous indignation when around those with a more conservative lifestyle?
2. Do you feel extremely distracted or irritated when a women in a jean skirt and frizzy hair perm, or a man in a white shirt and tie worships God with you at church?
3. Do you feel it is your duty to tell other other Christians they are wrong and you are right in lifestyle?
4. Are you content to flaunt your liberties in Christ as what is right or do you feel compelled to inform them they are in bondage to legalism and the Law of Moses?
Disclaimer: I dress modestly although I wear jewelry and makeup but never with the attitude of superiority because of my choices.
Blessings, Rhoni

Rhoni,
I really appreciate you giving our side a voice!
1) Not as a rule. However, when a con attempts to criticize my wife for her make-up, jewelry or pants, that will fire me up.
2) No. God looks at their heart, just as He looks at mine.
3) No.
4) In all honesty, after parting ways with my former UC affiliation, I did feel like I needed to flaunt my liberties and show them where I felt they were in error, however today, I try to keep my thoughts on the subject to myself other than when I'm in the pulpit or when specifically asked.
Gratefully in His grip,
Pastor Robbie

Abundant Grace,
Thank you for your honesty. Many liberals deny the flaunting of the liberties but I think we can't help it sometimes

no, it has nothing to do with the lifestyle, but everything to do with the attitude... I make it a point to project the same attitude right back at those who display the attitude I do not like. I will say that there are some people that can make me so angry with just a few words that it literally gives me a headache because I am so angry at their attitude.

no, unless that person is sitting behind me and yells or shouts and scares me out of my seat during a quiet part of the service

|
nope, I just do not like them trying to force their beliefs on others either through fear or guilt... as long as they do not do that, I do not have a problem with people believing differently than I do.

I flaunt my liberties only to irritate those same people with attitudes who believe I am going to hell for not believing the way they do.

No. I'm puzzled sometimes, but not angry or indignant. And usually just accept it as their way, their belief, life goes on.

They *would* kind of stand out... But I can't imagine just what they're wearing would be distracting or irritating.

Absolutely not, never.

I just live my life. I don't flaunt my liberties, but I won't wear a dress unless I really have some strange desire to (and I don't OWN any skirts or dresses anymore..it'd be quite an occasion for me to wear one).

I'm here. I dress modestly. I do wear jewelry, sometimes. And makeup, but most don't really notice I'm wearing it even if they're looking for it.

Re: Do Conservatives Incite a Negative Response in
No to everything listed but yes to one important item NOT listed. That is, I get very agitated when I hear a conservative (usually always a UC) make a statement like "there will be no bobbed haired women in heaven" or something like minded.
