Nice try, but I never said that or anything remotely like it.

Okay, then clarify what you meant by, have a nice eternity, after saying how DG's testimony was a sad story and how it proved your point.

What I wrote is how you came across to me not just from that one post but from your responses on this entire thread. If I misunderstood you, please forgive me, but I don't think I'm the only one who will think as I did after reading your comment to DG.

There are two prodigals in the Bible the Son in the hogpin and the hog in the house. Neither was happy and returned to their roots. Now both are happy.

I could explain further, but then I would be considered MORE judgemental.

Also, just because I have left doesn't mean that I don't search for truth. The Bible is still the infallible word of God and sin is sin. I search the word daily and love what God is doing my life.
I'm having issues with my daughter, who feels I've left God. She's young, and only following her mentors, so I grant her a bit of leeway when it comes to her insight on the matter, but it's draining me.

This is a big reason I'm leaving the UPC. I see what it's doing to my daughter, who feels that what she looks like is more important than how she shows respect to her mother.

What does this have to do with DG and "Have a nice eternity"?

Are you saying DG is now in the hogpen?

Isn't the hogpen more representative of leaving God completely and going out into the world of sin as oppose to what DG is doing, not leaving God but leaving behind hypocrisy and manmade doctrines (although I feel he is leaving important salvational truths behind also).

You can't be any more judgemental than what I thought you meant when you said "Have a nice eternity". So explaining may make you less judgemental in my mind.

Re: No Thanks, I Will Stay Old Time Pentecost

The Old Paths.

The traditional path.

The way things have always been done...path.

I go back to point to the truth among most conservative apostolics, those who yearn for a return to the old path, traditional holiness, and the like, that change equals compromise, and every consideration becomes a slippery slope, i.e. A release of standards immediately leads to Trinitarian sympathyzers or a compromise of doctrine.

The fact of the matter is there is a realization that takes place when someone truly understands that the grace of God doesn't dictate that adhering to religious tradition and culture is necessary for salvation...or even Christian conduct. Christian conduct should be a choice. Go ahead and say those who embrace standards have a choice, and I will tell you that most of them only have one option to select.

Could it be that Apostolics are so afraid of the world and they don't have sufficient confidence in their experience to be able to function among the hairy unwashed without these walls of so called separation?

Gimme that old tyme religion
Gimme that old tyme religion
Gimme that old tyme religion
its good enough for me.

It was good for my grandmother
It was good for my grandfather
it was good for mom and daddy
its good enough for me

Gimme that old tyme religion...

This flew over my head, now they are both happy?

This was a parable.
