Hope you stay with this one longer than the ones in the past.
"Ones?" Plural? I was only in ONE thing before now: it was the UPC. No more.

I'll have to take your word for that, since the churches that I preach in women cover their armpits.
My daughter was telling me about being on the metro (subway) in Paris and a gorgous young woman got on at a stop. My daughter was thinking about how her brothers would find this women incredibly beautiful then as the train started the woman lifted her arm up to grab the handrail and had a giant wad of armpit hair jutting out. LOL!!! Being France I am sure there was no deodorant on her either.

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.
"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.
"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."
Quote from Ethel Goss (widow of 1st UPC Gen Supt. Howard Goss) book "The Winds of God"
Let's not make ONE a plurality like the trinis do.

Ghasp! A woman preacher! And hollering AND LEANING OVER like a man!

I am sure if she (the woman who boarded the metro) opened her mouth, her teeth would have been equally hideous.
I personally know a lady that is still alive today that had armpit hair that hung out of THREE QUARTER LENGTH SLEEVES! She lives in Memphis, TN and you can call her and she will confirm that years ago, she abided by the teaching of a pastor that stated that it was wrong for a woman to shave her legs or armpits.
And I guess bobby pins and braids were out too
__________________ Let it be understood that Apostolic Friends Forum is an Apostolic Forum.
Apostolic is defined on AFF as:
There is One God. This one God reveals Himself distinctly as Father, Son and Holy Ghost.
The Son is God himself in a human form or "God manifested in the flesh" (1Tim 3:16)
Every sinner must repent of their sins.
That Jesus name baptism is the only biblical mode of water baptism.
That the Holy Ghost is for today and is received by faith with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues.
The saint will go on to strive to live a holy life, pleasing to God.
A Pentecostal lady with uncut hair, no makeup and a dress stands out like the proverbial deer in the headlights at a non denominational charismatic meeting.
The clean shaven Pentecostal man without the jewerly is too old timey for the new improved Pentecostals.
So the first step to being accepted by and fellowshipping with trinitarian charismatics is the dropping of the standard.
Then it's just another step to "well they don't really believe in three Gods, after all it's really just semantics".
And then the use of the name of Jesus in water baptism is not as important as it used to be.
Thanks, but NO THANKS, I'll just stay over here and WATCH the train wreck.
A hearty amen to that!
