Br Epley I am not trying to say where one preaches or who one preaches for. That is none of my business. What I don't understand is if a person believes all of acts 2:38 must be obeyed for salvation how can that person yoke (fellowship) them self to a person that believes false doctrine.

Re: No Thanks, I Will Stay Old Time Pentecost
Brother Light I am not really in the conversation. My personal opinion is we can be friends and be different. That does not mean we have to believe just alike. We can be open to each other state our reasons why we feel different however to form an organization there must be the same core belief´s...
Maybe I am wrong but I have preached for Baptists, Assembly of God and lots of people that I feel are in error and have helped many of them to come to what I feel is truth. I did it being their "different" friend. I have been judged very harshly at times because of this but that has been my experience.
I would not want weaker saints visiting every Tom, Dick and Harry but mature christians usually know what they believe.

Sister I am not referring to Trinitarians. I will preach in a Catholic church if they allow me to preach the plan of salvation. I am referring to men who believe in one God and Jesus name baptism, but who believe the plan of salvation different.
Example 1: Acts 2:38 MUST BE OBEYED COMPLETLY for salvation.
Example 2: Salvation is obtained at repentance
I can't believe that I would ever agree with any thing Danial A. had to say but he is right our twenty first century Pentecostal heritage was founded upon the above compromise. This compromise is still in existence today and example 2 doctrine is growing by leap and bounds. How can these two groups be of one mind as Paul instructed?

Old time Pentecost is found in Acts chapter 2 and happened (as far as we can tell) on Sunday May 28, AD 30 in the Temple in Jerusalem.
At that time there were over 500 people in the church. They believed in the death burial and resurrection of Jesus (Ref 1 Cor. 15:1-6.
About 1/4 of the believers (120 of the 500 or more total) were in one accord in one place when the Holy Spirit was poured out upon them. They began to praise and glorify God, speaking with languages they had not learned. A crowd gathered. They were wondering what was going on. Some mocked. Peter stood up with the 11 other apostles and Peter preached a sermon in a language understood by the whole group. He quoted the prophet Joel and explained that what they were seeing and hearing was a fulfillment of what the prophet had foretold. He then preached Jesus: His death, burial, resurrection, ascension into Heaven, and His outpouring of the Spirit of God as He had said He would, and that Jesus is both Lord and Christ/Messiah. Conviction pricked the hearts of the hearers and they cried out, "...what shall we do?" Peter answered:
1. repent and be saved
2. follow up that salvation experience with a mikveh/baptism
3. and told them that they too could receive this Holy Spirit experience because it was promised to them
About 3000 people accepted the word as preached and sealed it by self-immersing in the many mikveh baths in the temple area.
OK, what's new Pentecost?
Basically the same thing. For over a hundred years God has been pouring out His Spirit around the world like He did at that Pentecost feast in Jerusalem as recorded in Acts chapter 2. Ministers are preaching around the world that Jesus is Lord of all and that He is the anointed Son of God --the Christ/Messiah that was longed for by ancient Israel. These ministers still preach salvation by faith in Jesus Christ. They also stress the importance of following up that salvation experience with water baptism and the importance of receiving the baptism in the Holy Spirit. We no longer practice a three-fold self immersion like they did back at the original Pentecost. We have replaced that with a single dipping in an inside tank by a minister. We still speak with tongues and prophesy just like the old timers back there in 30 AD.

This is not what Peter said.
Saved at repentance doctrine is a lie from the pits of hell.
Look at the words used.
#1 Repent and be saved can't be found in Peters command.
#2 Peter did not say follow up your salvation with baptism.
#3 Peter did not use the words could recieve the Holy Ghost.
This doctrine is a doctrine from the pits of hell.
No where in the bible can you find anyone that says one is saved at repentance.
Acts 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Where does it say anything in this verse about being saved?

Yep, I would have to agree!
Turn(repent) and be united/converted(baptized) everyone of you in the name of Jesus Christ.......
