Only when bad results are seen especially when treatment was simple. I think dying from an infection these days is ridiculous.

If he were to die from something that required treatment, you will have a hard time convincing a judge and jury that it was his decision to die when you, as the parent, had an alternative.

I don't believe I said otherwise. Was just saying that God sometimes doesn't answer either way. His failing to answer doesn't mean it's a NO from Him. Like you said, sometimes He waits. I didn't say it, but I don't fail to realize that.
