We can be trained to serve, but those who have a true servant's heart are not made...they are called of God.
They do not ride upon the wind of affirmation and applause, but operate under the unction of the Holy One.
The heart of a servant is sometimes misunderstood by those lacking a discerning eye, yet they remain true and sure, resting in the will of God.
Their love runs deep, and true servants will lay awake at night, travailing for souls. Meals are often set aside as they intercede or fight spiritual warfare with fasting and prayer. They will sit up all night listening to a troubled heart, allowing the wisdom that comes from on High to speak peace.
The servant gives and toils with one goal in mind...the restoration, healing, and saving of a soul. They joyfully give their last dime so that that a man, woman, or child who has never heard the Word of truth may hold it in their hand, written in their own language.
The rewards in this economy may not be great. Men of reknown may not know their name. They may not ever reach the pinnacle of success one might expect.
But greatness lies in the eye of the Beholder of all things, and He does not judge greatness as man.
He sees the broken heart mended, the weary saint comforted, the hurting healed, the backslider restored, the sinner brought to repentance, and says, "You were my hands...you were my feet...you were my voice."
Great is the reward for those with a servants heart, for only eternity will show how many were snatched from the pit of destruction because
you were there...because
you prayed...because
you gave...because
you spoke a word in due season...because
you extended grace and mercy...
May God continually preserve those with a servant's heart and keep them in His loving care.
God bless you, Mother A...
