Sam, the artical you posted references Evangelist R. E. McAlister. I read where he got into a Holy Ghost confrontation with another minister over the doctrine of sanctification, progressive or definate. It became a major point of contention because one believed that people could be baptized in the HG and still not be perfect in holiness but that the HG would lead them into perfection. The other evangelist thought that people had to be completly sanctified to receive the HG--because the HG will not dwell in an unclean vessel.
As the story goes they challenged each other to let God judge who was correct by killing the wrong one within a year. And that one of the man was dead within one year.
Ever hear of anything about this? I got it from an artical from a very kind lady who was UPC.
