That's all part of the fun, Stew. They say serious and important things and then take a few jaw punches. I loved it!!!
That leaves room though for the Dems to actually be the one to appear to claim the moral highground by insisting that the family is off limits and that the GOP is politicking as usual. I'm sure that the base loved every word of it like the Dem base loves every word that comes out of their candidate's mouth. Sometimes I just feel like I live in Bizarro world.

Personally, I like sarcasm. I like the barbs delivered with a gracious smile. But that's just me.
Typically, the vice president does the "dirty work" of attacking the opponent, and the presidential candidate can focus on more generic interests and rise above the fray. That's part of what will make SP formidable--the potential ability to do her traditional job as VP candidate, and still come across as intelligent, calm and pragmatic.
If she continues in the manner in which she delivered last night's speech, Joe Biden doesn't stand a chance. He's simply not charming enough, interesting enough, intriguing enough or pretty enough. And he probably doesn't have the capacity to rein in his temper as she does, but that's purely conjecture on my part. You know women can often push men's buttons with ease, and smile calmly while the man roars into an insane, incoherent rage.
Ummm, Abigail - McCain is on tonight. YOu might change your statement tomorrow. Hehehehehehe!
Lord, I have company coming over tonight for dinner and to listen to McCain. What am I doing? Looking for a women in a pink slip so I can post it!
I still want to know if anyone knows if Cindy and Laura borrow their clothes or do they pay for them?

I agree that that is what is typically done, but I think that one of Palin's selling points should be and has been that she is not "typical". I don't think she should resort to appearing "typical". That would be the effective counterpoint to the Dem's "party of atypical politics" mantra.

I get quite tired of hearing "McCain will be another 4 years of Bush" from Obama, I think I am going to be sick!
I wish they would come up with something new-
Well, see it's the "repetition" sale. They have to have a key phrase to drone on and settle the view of the other side. It's like advertising and it usually works.
It doesn't appear that it is going to work this time. I am so thankful that Bush and Cheney didn't show up for the convention. I just didn't want them there.

I know he's not going to play by the rules. LOL!!!! I'm looking forward to his speech, too, but I expect to have to work harder to pay attention.

I dunno, but Cindy's green dress was beautiful.

STEW!!! I wanted her to say that about the "Greek columns"!!!!
I read that McCain is not going to harness her like they did Dan Quayle. Let her fly - she's been practicing since High School for these things.
