It depends on how young and hip you are. I personally would only wear black shoes/belt with navy because that is the "right" thing us stoggy folk do.
however, the "in" crowd no find that to be oh so very old fashoned.
It is very hip to wear brown with navy. dark brown would be the compromise while the true hipsters would wear even a lighter brown shoe.
(I suspect the in crowd dont wear belts at all... they are a sorry lot)
All the more to enable us to leave our clothes behind at the sound of the trump.
J/K I have to wear a belt. Of course now they are more to accessorize than anything else. I know you old fogeys wear your trusted black belt to hold up 'yer britches.
