As to what shoe to wear with a blue suit...brown or cordovan are more appropriate than black.

Red or white, or red and white, or red and white checked.

Re: Dark Blue/Navy Suit With What Colored Shoes?

You dont mix black and navy. Unless you are talking about leather. Navy suits should not be worn with black pants, black shirts, or say an all black tie. Your belt and shoes can be black, any shade of brown, or cordova/oxblood depending on what shirt and tie you are wearing.

A traditional white shirt would be perfect with black shoes, as would any primary colors. If you wear earth tones, consider a medium brown shoe which could be versatile with almost any color suit. I like the oxblood shoes, and they are really versatile as well, though I tend to only wear them with a traditional look as trendy corovan shoes are really hard to find in the areas I have lived in.

I personally like a navy blue suit with a french blue shirt and red or maroon tie.

Black if it's a red tie, oxblood if it's maroon or burgundy.

Good answer!

I'm still glad I'm a girl and can wear hot red shoes with a navy suit! LOL!
