Anyway, it's all up in the air. A Category two could put our pine trees on the house. Hope that doesn't happen.

They expect it to be a 3 by morning and possibly a 4 by landfall.
We are very much in the cone of uncertainity and now areas close to Houston are calling for mandatory evacuations.

You are in the cone of uncertainly more than you were this morning. I heard it will be a four and then hit land at a 3. I think they protect themselves by saying these things, but the conditions are right for it.
We won't make a decision until Friday morning of leaving or not. My husband said if the eye hits a little above us, then we might stay. I reminded him that Claudette hit us with trees on houses at a Category 1, so a 2 is not going to work for us.
One of the houses that had major damage was a house we looked at to purchase!

Re: Times of Refreshing..Houston..Cancelled
I apologize to everyone for getting upset on the topic of Gordon Poe. I can't stand it when we discuss people and their lives on an open forum. It always ticks me off!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It's pure malicious gossip and I can't stand it.

This is not outrageous? He should be ashamed.
I called him and asked him about it, and he stood behind his statements essentially telling me to like it or lump it.

Sounds like he considers himself a real he man.
He'd make a statement like that to me and get his lights punched out.

Tim,
If he knew some men that had done this very thing, he has a right to preach about it.
It's the same thing, IMO, as a woman that dresses her daughter to re-live, again, her youth.

Your right it changed since this morning. They are now calling for mandatory evacuations in more areas.
Our other home is near Pearland and they are calling for evacuations of that area as well, but so far not mandatory, at least I don't think it is.
I pray both of my homes makes it through the storm.

I'm really not pushing this as hard as it looks, just saying...if you need somewhere and all that, the invitation stands.

BTW...are you near Dallas or Austin?
Thanks. I will mention it to my husband. He mentioned going to Al and not LA for the evacuation IF we evacuate. I told him IF we are leaving we are leaving tomorrow because I don't want in that bumper to bumper traffic again.
My massage threphist told me it took them 6 hours to get to Houston for Gustav and that is a normally 1 1/2 hour trip.
