Re: People In Hurricane Ike's Path

Again, I have bedrooms to spare. If y'all change your mind, please, please know you can head to Austin and have a place to stay. I'm sure I can round up more rooms if more people show up than I have space for.

Well Tim the wheels are off the double wide, and I am not sure the Honda could pull it anyway so I guess we'll just stick it out...

God is good, all is well...

Yes He is.

Re: People In Hurricane Ike's Path

My Mom and I were called to pull an all nighter at Cambell Center, our district enclosed arena, when the county decided to use it as an emergency shelter for those who are diabled. I had gotten off work at 6:30, and then was called in at 8:30 to work until 6:00AM this morning. We both got up just a minute ago, that we must check our individual schools before 6:00PM Saturday and again before 12:00PM Sunday.

This storm is a major monster.

All of Houston owes emergency personnel and state and city workers like you and Mama Price a great debt of gratitude.

Good to see you posting knucklehead.

Re: People In Hurricane Ike's Path

I am barely here. The storm is destroying lives, even before it comes upon land. The roads in Galveston are starting to receive water. I am tired now, but at least our home is hurricane ready, as best we can, before the call.

I am getting ready for my first cup of joe after waking up, like my third in total since midnight. This thing makes you think, makes you pray, and makes you search yourself.

Re: People In Hurricane Ike's Path

I am afraid some folk are going to see that this is "just" a catagory 2 storm and think they can ride it out, but due to its size, the experts are saying the surge could be as high as a cat 4 or worse.

Also there will likely be a lot more tornados because of the size of the thing.

After Gustav being considered a dud by a lot of those in its path, people seem to be less serious about this one.

we have such short attention spans.
