Re: Ray Boltz????
A boy I grew up with lives this type life...he is so sweet and kind and I hate it but I still love him as a person. In my family we were only girls and he was like our brother. If I happen to be in the area I invite him to church with me. Someone once asked me if I were ashamed to have him walk in with me. I said No, he is my friend. He needs help and that is what the church is for. I have never heard him say God made him like he is for it was and is God´s plan for man and woman to marry. He gave us the example in the first book of the Bible...Adam and Eve.
It is a very hard sin to overcome and I say that as a minister working with people and I have often wondered if it is not a sin that embeds itself even in certain families.
I know a family here in Brazil that so many in that family are inclined that way...

Sister you say it's hard to overcome sin ... some of these families you work with are they Spirit-filled? Does receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost automatically equate to overcoming this "deep embedded" sins what ever they may be ...
I ask this because someone in this thread said:

Posters like Joeel, Michael the Disciple and now apparently Jekyll believe in the doctrine of perfection ... which states that if one is filled with Holy Ghost one will not sin and overcome all the time.
Your thoughts on the matter.

Re: Ray Boltz????
I find it interesting that some who support a levitical model find fault in other levites who minister in the temple .... i.e. music ministers.
Yet will not tolerate when attention of perversion within some of their "priestly" cohorts is spoken about ...
Homosexuality and sexual immorality has, imo, just as much as a stronghold on some in priestly garb.
Just about week ago ... one such "priest" who struggled with this .... in his "youth" years ago just passed.

Re: Ray Boltz????
I am a musician, and do not find fault with musicians, per se.
I simply acknowledge that it seems to be a strong vulnerability for music people.

Is that like the stereotype that says Asians are bad drivers?

Actually, I never heard of that one.

Re: Ray Boltz????
Daniel, sometimes it is hard to express without someone taking us wrong but our dear Brother Paul let us know it is a daily struggle...he worked at it everyday...
I do not think the HG makes us perfect for we live in an unperfect world however as we journey along we strive for perfection...
I have met a few people who think they have arrived...but Daniel and to all who read I have had the HG over 50 years and still struggle at times. Not with the sin we are discussing but we all struggle at times...However we have HIS Spirit that is all powerful to help us...we sometimes forget that part...
I am working at my computer today doing reports however I will add a little more in a little while...
I am not saying living in sin is normal but we all sin...in a thought...in an action...in words...not keeping his commandments...not obeying his voice...Thank God for forgiveness...

Amos your thoughts on the question I asked Sister Alvear ... if one is Holy Ghost filled does one no longer struggle and has overcome?
I ask in the practical sense ... not in the potential aspect ...

Thank you for being transparent and candid, Sister Alvear.
Some believe in immediate sanctification .... some believe our sanctification is a process ...
I still believe sin is sin before the eyes of Holy God ... no matter the flavor ... it reeks and is filthy rags before him ...
Only when we are clothed with Christ ... are we just before God.

Re: Ray Boltz????
In 1 Cor. 10:13 we read, "There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it."
We are told that the believer is free of sin in Romans 6:18," Being then made free from sin, ye became servants of righteousness." The character of the Christian is that, "Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin..." ( 1 Jn 3:9) The First epistle of John was written for a purpose, "My little children, these things I write unto you that ye sin not." ( 1 Jn. 2:1).
Being born sinners results in the fact that we all sin. Notice the progression in Romans 5:12: Sin entered the world through Adam, death follows sin, death comes to all people, all people sin because they inherit sin from Adam. Because “all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,” ( Romans 3:23)
So we must balance the scriptures while we have been born again we are still in the flesh and we must fight sin.
“In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace” ( Ephesians 1:7). God, in His infinite wisdom, has provided the remedy for the sin we inherit, and that remedy is available to everyone: “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness” ( 1 John 1:9).
