I understand that the saved will be given incorruptible bodies,but what about the sinners ?Of course I know the unjust will be punished ?But I don't know exactly what form they will be in ,when they are punished,however their punishment won't be pleasant.

These verses say the sinner will be resurrected. Just what is involved is another issue...
Acts 24:15 KJV And have hope toward God, which they themselves also allow, that there shall be a resurrection of the dead, both of the just and unjust.
John 5:29 KJV And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.

I know sinners will be resurrected to a punishment,just what form they will be in,I'm not sure it could be a physical form,I just don't know,but they'll be aware of their punishment I do believe.Alot of these things I just don't know everything about.
Sometimes the bible implys things,but it doesn't explictly say something about subjects,so I try not to read too much into texts.

If there is a consciousness after death before this resurrection (which I think there is), then the resurrection (reviving to life again) can only refer to the body, at my initial thought on this. Nothing else is "dead" that will come to life again.

I'm certainly not saying this isn't so,whatever form the wicked are in,I don't want to be in their shoes.

I'm just being honest sometimes the bible gives us the big picture,and it doesn't give us all of the details.

IN some issues, we must piece together irrefutable facts the bible states and then get the entire picture. And since I do believe the sinner is conscious in hell today after death, and shall be resurrected in a resurrection of damnation, the answer can only be a bodily resurrection shall occur for the sinner, and is called one of damnation.
When we analyze such issues, we must refer to the definitions of terms. What does resurrect mean? Something lived, died and lives a second time. So what can be resurrected in a dead sinner?

I responded the same in another thread topic, but God made man in order to work through man and influence the physical universe. God is Spirit, and the physical universe was created at a certain point. God then made man both spiritual and physical. And man was meant to be God's expresser into the physical. Without a physical body, this would not occur.
This principle is seen in Paul's words, "Christ liveth in me." Gal 2:20. God made man in order to manifest through man. As God is in the Heavens and is solely Spirit, He made man in His image in the physical realm. None of this would work if man did not have a body. So the resurrection will return our bodies to the states in which God first intended us to be before the fall -- immortal physical people through whom His Spirit can manifest. |
Full preterists have asked the same question as MTD. Why a physical resurrection if we're with Jesus when we die? Any thoughts on my response?
