Re: DETOX - PURIFICATION: Anyone else done this?

Is this like a colon cleanse?

MOW this sounds very similar to Dr. Richard Schulze's cleanse.

Somehow we started slipping, and then in the last 8 years since we've been here, our diet has gotten worse and worse. LOL!!!

Both of us have packed on weight (I won't say how much ), and since we're both outside a lot, I have to attribute it to diet. Hard to keep from gaining weight if every meal has lots of refined starches, meat, butter, cream, etc.!

ANYwayze, we're a week in so far and not even missing the meat (much) and dairy. I did start phasing out meat and dairy about 3 weeks ago, so it wouldn't be cold turkey. I already feel better, and I've dropped 3 lbs. just since last Monday. (Not sure about Jeff, but he's not complaining--I even got him to like tofu, cooked into an Indian curry dish.)

So good luck! Going on a cleanse not only helps your body, but it also restores self-discipline and you'll find making good food choices is easier after you gone 3 weeks without everything you want.

I'm only two days into it, so we'll see how it goes!

Re: DETOX - PURIFICATION: Anyone else done this?

I have a friend who did something where he took some suppliments, drank a drink, etc.. every day for 3 months that was supposed to cleanse and detox the body. After 30 days you were supposed to be able to feel more energy, etc. He said it didn't work. Sent it back and asked for a refund and he got it. He went and bought one that was only 14 days paid 1/4 of the price and said it worked better than the other had but still had not really given him much of a boost in energy

SoooooOOoooo...Jeff stopped by the store on the way home from work to pick up a sweater and some dog treats for his new Boston Terrier puppy (his early birthday present). He sits down at the picnic table at the park to show me his purchases, proceeds to take out the dog treats and read me the ingredients, and THEN says, "Hey...humans could eat these. Some of these dog treats look really good...ribs and beef jerky and peanut butter."

*stunned silence* Jeff looked up to see what the problem was. I sat in total consternation for a moment, probably with my mouth open, that my poor husband was actually salivating over DOG TREATS WITH MEAT IN THEM.

Anyway, I started laughing and told him that I had just bragged online about his apparent affinity for going without meat, and that I'd have to set the record straight. Apparently I have led my husband into craving Chloe's treats.

I have some serious research to do....

That is funny. It reads like a scene from "King of Queens" or something. I could totally see Doug eyeing a meaty dog treat if he were placed on a vegan diet.

Haha! Me, too.

I hope my family doesn't mutiny while I experiment on them. *not so confident now*

It's kind of like being overseas where the eat very little meat except here at home, I'm surrounded by all the "good" stuff!
You want to detox? Get yourself about 2 LBs of steamed boudin and 1LB dirty rice and eat all that with six bowls of shrimp, crawfish, and chicken gumbo.

Wash it all down with five gallons of strawberry Kool-Aide.

You'll be cleaner than the straight pipe of 65 panhead.
