I was at all three of his funerals and there were MANY PAW BISHOPS and Pastors there including Bishop Wagner and several other major Bishops.
Funny, I too was there for all 3 services. Got no sleep the entire time standing in line waiting to get in the church, but it was OHHH so worth it. Matter of fact, it was a road trip for us. My then presider was there (Bishop James I Clark of the Church of Our Lord Jesus Christ) along with several members of the board of Apostoles of the Church of Our Lord.

WOW - That is amazing that both of us were there at the same time! I was the White Bishop in a collar. There were VERY FEW whites there. I sat with the Bishops. Actually the last funeral I sat between Bishop Marvin Winans and Pastor Donnie McClurkin and behind Bishop Wagner. Oh and the best thing - I DID NOT WAIT IN LINE!!!!!!!!!! WOW - I saw those long lines and was glad I did not have to wait in one! ;-)

I too had my clerical attire on however so did every other male (lol). Get this, on Saturday, they were letting people in little by little and when they saw my collar along with my other friends collars, they let us in. It was too funny. When I got in on Saturday, I came in when Dorinda was singing and that dance broke out afterwards. I danced so hard, then collapsed and fell asleep and the next thing I knew Blake was up preaching. We were just so tired from driving and getting like 3 hours of sleep every night. Matter of fact, I did a blog on my whole experience you should read it http://thepopeofpentecost.wordpress....dited-version/ Friday we really did not have to wait long but ohhhhhhhh Saturday morning, it was horrible. Again, we were on line starting at I think 6am if memory serves me correct.

Good for you that you got in with no waiting. I am no COGIC big wig HOWEVER when it comes to Apostolic circles, I think I do pretty well having some "big wig"-ness in me. LOL

LOL - That is funny - Did you go to the cemetery? It was raining so hard and after 12 hours of funerals - I HAD HAD IT! LOL
Actually - I went and met a member of this forum that pastors in Memphis just after the last funeral. Wow - was that powerful when they carried him out and he was on the screen singing and dancing. I wept so hard.
He was my Bishop and had been so kind to me down through the years and I loved and admired him so. I cry every time I see him on TV and think - What a great loss to the Kingdom of God. What a mighty man of God and I was so blessed to sit many times at his right hand.
I thank God for the precious memories.

Any thoughts on their new leader Bishop Blake?
I've heard that a lot of COGIC view him as a Left Coast Liberal.

SHUT YO MOUTH! I too cry every time I see him. I am hardcore Apostolic however I watched that Patterson since they were in the old sanctuary. My friends and I felt we had to attend the services even though we were not COGIC.

And nope, I did not go to the cemetary. Like you said, it was raining hard, everyone was in a daze, folks just could not believe that it was all over. Litterally. However I did go to this barbecue place to eat some food before we got back on the road.

As for Blake, I'm sure he's a cool dude in the cogic circle however he will never compare to Patterson. Patterson was a Holiness preacher, never ashamed of speaking in tongues all over the broadcast. Those two men are like night and day.

I have known Bishop Blake and Mother Blake for years. We did several conferences together several years ago. He is a great man and very progressive. He was the BEST choice believe me! God help them if they had put Bishop Owens back in! I pastored just down the street from CDO in Marietta, GA and God have mercy - he sure does not need to be Presiding Bishop - He needs to get saved! I don't know how some people get away with crazy stuff for YEARS!

BUT - I DO love the Blake's - They have always been very kind to me - and YES - he is a liberal - he promotes OBAMA - God help us!

Covington (actually on the border of Conyers). Send me your info via PM and we will talk.

Ahhhhhhhhhh yessss, Greater Community Church of God In Christ. Do people even go there anymore? You know when Simmons was alive he had taken all the heavy hitters from the local COGIC churches. Now that he is gone, everyone is in the wilderness again.
