When the picture came out with TD Jakes with earrings on, there
was outrage in the Black community. I read all their forums on it.
There was criticism elsewhere too.
BUT no one in the groups seems to mind the women with
piercings.
Personally, I see a double standard. All the women are on to
every little thing about gender equality so what gives???

What is vanity? Everything is vanity.
Good clothes come from the Father, for his people, and for his glory alone. For it is the Father who first dressed us. And what God gives/does is not inept or lacking. I disagree with those who think its fine to bring flip-flops to church, or casual clothing. You come to church not for you, not for your entertainment but for HIS worship. We should give to God our best in all areas, for he is the God of everything.
Personally I rarely comb or put on good clothes outside of church. I really don't care how I look. But when it comes to entering God's House, I do my best to come with my best...not for me...but for His glory. For me...my church attire is an act of worship directed to God.
Clarification: I would not apply this principle to visitors or those new to the Faith.

Renda had a good point - why are women allowed to show their legs from the knee down, but men aren't?
