As a SS director in my UPC church, I promote kids (including mine) playing sports. We currently have 8 kids between the ages of 5 and 12 that play soccer with the local league and 3 of them are girls.
The 5 year old girl proudly told me that she scored a goal last saturday! Our pastor has no problem with this. I remember the days of "no organized sports" and I am glad that is left in the past. Our local soccer league has games on saturdays so it works for us.
