Once you get Parvo, it stays for a long time. When we have a dog come in with it, we have to spray this cleaner stuff we use and shut the door let it "soak" for an hour or so then mop it up. When we leave, since I have dogs, I have to wash my shoes off with that cleaner, because it is so contagious that I can bring it home on my shoes. I have to wash my clothes immediately.'
So, yes, wait to get another dog. Or if you get one, make sure that it has had all of it's vaccinations first.
