Maybe it's time for a new thing.

When the temple was rebuilt, the noise of the people shouting for joy, and the weeping of those who remembered the first temple was intermingled.

I suppose we can do one of two things - look forward to a new thing, or spend our days reminiscing about days gone by.

I'd rather look forward.

The GC will be held in St. Louis next year. More of a central location. I'll be there.

I was in Greensboro last week attending the GC. It is a fact that the attendance was less than the previous four years, and Yes the upper level seats were blocked off and a black curtain was utilized to keep empty seats out of view. However....the services were great.

Did you stay for Sunday? What did you think of Saturday night?
What did you think of the music leaders, choir etc?

Thanks for your post!

Re: UPCI General Confrence, Reviews and opinions

I did not stay for Sunday...however I am enjoyed all the services. When I comes to worship I am the easiest person to please. I can stand under a tree and get blessed as worship is generated my my own willingness to submit to however God chooses to move. The music was great, not too many celebrity singers/personalities...less of flesh and more of God.

I must say though...even though the attendance was down and I would have normally gone with my family (wife and two sons) I could only make this GC alone given the economic climate that currently prevails.... I saw more racial diversity this year than any other years that I attended. I think the UPCI is making progress in this regard.

Maybe the UPCI is having a "Gideon" moment!!!! Doing more with less!

Re: UPCI General Confrence, Reviews and opinions

I remember the pastor used to promote GC, they organized bus and airplane trips together and afterward we would get a report of highlights. Now, it isn't advertised, and we only hear about how tired the pastor is when he gets back and that's it.

I know for a fact pastors are insulating their churches from the organization in order to maintain control. Spanish GC is in Denver next year and if we thought the DNC was a zoo, the Spanigh GC will be a lolapalooza! Mark is correct, GC is dying apart from business meetings.
