I heard something today that freaked me out a bit. I live in a VERY democratic town. I walked my son to school and was talking with someone the other moms about the election. I was the lone McCain supporter or so I thought. When most of them left there was me and two others, they told me that they were not really going to vote for Obama. So I asked them why they were telling everyone that they were, what they said really hit me hard. They said that because they wanted to "fit in". I was like "WHAT"?!?!? So they both proceeded to tell me that because they did not want to be hassled so they just agreed with everyone else around them. Now these are acquaintances more then friends but I was still really sad that they felt they needed to do this.
So I guess exit polls can not be trusted either at least not in my town.
