That I understand, I just don't know why it's that way. It's not just a white thing though, cause blacks see it that way also. I just don't get nor understand why that is.
HO, I'm sure that there have been millions of half-black and half-white people in our history who desperately wished it were not so. There have been some who were visually completely white who attempted to live as white and knew they were risking their very lives. It's nothing new it's just the way it has been. There have been many who were much more "white" than Obama who have been firmly and unequivocally labeled as black whether they liked it or not.
Personally, as I have said before here, I do not like it and I think that it does not pay sufficient homage to half the family...but that doesn't change what it is or has always been.

From an 'emergent' perspective, do you think this means that the US is now a liberal, post-modern country? Post Christian? Gergen on CNN is calling it a 'liberal cabal'. Is this just a political shift or evidence of a cultural shift?
