Re: This month in Pentecostal History

Nice post! but Ida Haywood(1884-1954) was the widow of Bishop Haywood and Bishop Hancock was never married to Fannie Haywood, and if memory serves me right the Bibleway Churches was founded by Bishop Smallwood Edmund Williams on November 20,1957. It's always good to now about our Apostolic Heritage.

True she was Bishop Haywood's widow. And yes Bibleway was formed by Smallwood Williams and a couple of other Bishops all out of the COOLJC

12 November 1958, Jesus Name Pentecostal Mission opened its doors to a small storefront building in Wylie, Texas. Robert L. and his wife, Audrey, with their large family of eleven children, ages 9 mos. to
20 yrs. Robert and Audrey Blakey had both experienced their New Birth experience following their mothers conversions in 1933-34. They had endeavored to follow the leading of the Spirit in everything they did.

God planted them in the community where all of their children would grow up and all graduate from Wylie High School. The community was made better by the living testimonies of this couple who desired to please God in all they did.

Nov.14-16, 2008, the congregation will celebrate its 50th Anniversary with special services planned. Robert and Audrey Blakey's great-grand-children will represent the 5th generation of the Blakeys as Apostolic Pentecostals.

Although the elder Blakey and his faithful wife, Audrey, have fallen asleep in Christ, many of their family still attend the church they founded on a crisp sunny day in 1958.

Re: This month in Pentecostal History

Thats great, Sis Falla. We should be posting things that happened with us or with our church and/or ministry during the month of November in whatever year.

For example: It was in November, 1970 that I was baptized in the Name of Jesus Christ by Pastor W. H. Dunn and Evangelist H. H. Phillips at the Apostolic Church of Jesus Christ in Miami, Florida.

Bro. OneAccord,

I like this thread very much. Thank you for starting it. You are right. We
need to continue to make history and record it.

Blessings,
