I always hated calling people at church "Brother" and "Sister".

This thread reminded me of something that happened not too long ago...an old friend who's husband was a minister in our church had a really good friend (they were cousins by marriage as well) but once her husband became the district Youth President she insisted that her best friend call her "Sister" and no longer by her first name.

I don't let anyone get very informal with me until I get to know them pretty good. Vulgar culture seems to be the coming style of the future. Rap music in Apostolic Pentecost is not far behind. Preachers without coat and tie are already behind the pulpit. Crude personal deportment seem to be more acceptable. Yuck!

Some people are so formal they end up having trouble with getting close to anyone. Just a thought.
