OK this is asinine. I have been frustrated with other drivers..who hasn't? However I would never go so far as to say some idiot that cut me off should get shot.

I can almost guarantee that was NOT his first time being inconsiderate.
He has reaped what he has no doubt sowed and I am glad for the God's Mercy in sparing the lives of the one who almost went off the road and the one who was shot.
How different would this thread be if it was your relative who was driven off the road and that person's vehicle flipped over-- all because someone else was an idiot!!!
The guy who was shot will find no pity from me-- not one iota!
I am glad he is alive.

Oh please!

I hope he is NEVER caught!

Let me help you out here. The criminal was the one doing the shooting. That is illegal where I'm from.

I do not think gun violence is an "acceptable" way to deal with idiot drivers.
But when it happens, and it does not include the loss of life, I think of every idiot that drives on the roads in my area and think back to every time I thought about taking matters into my own hands.
I don't feel sorry for the guy who was shot. I feel no pity for him, nada.
Of course I have never shot anyone for driving badly. I don't advocate it. But I don't back down from my assertion that the idiot driver who was shot in the arm probably got what he deserved.
I am glad the idiot was shot in the arm and not anywhere else.
Again I ask, if it had been one of our relatives who was run off the road and our relative's car flipped or crashed into a tree, killing the occupants, our thoughts would be different.
|
I ask you what if the driver had been your wife or family member? Would you feel the same.
People have bad days all the time. Running late, talking on the phone, lots of different reasons to mess up. No one is perfect and no one has the right to shoot someone for road rage. He and anyone else that thinks the way he handled this is right, needs some anger managment classes.

Re: Road Rage at it Best - Good Grief!
Someone needs to pop a cap in Bro Eastman's butt and shoot some sense into him lol
I don't think that shooting someone is the equivelant of "almost" injuring someone...
Maybe we can turn this around...maybe that butthead with the gun almost got what he deserved? But sadly fate has a funny way of smiling on us. What sort of moron drives around with a loaded weapon and then pops a cap in someone that cut them off?
As I said clearly they were both idiots, as far as we know (we still don't know the exact circumstances for the cut off)

Re: Road Rage at it Best - Good Grief!
You are right sis...again the criminal was the guy packing a loaded weapon in his car and not just brandishing it...not just shooting it, but shooting it AT someone AND hitting them. That idiot shooter did not end up in the hospital but he could have done more than injure someone as inconsiderate as himself, he could have hit someone in another car. Kids die in LA all the time that way..some idiot shooting at someone else..
And yet he hopes the guy is never caught. This guy could have already murdered or robbed someone.

This has been an intersting topic to say the least (and I have been shot at before), I'll leave it at that.

Ok Ma'am,
So when was the last time that you were having a bad day, running late, etc and you ran someone off the road?
The gravity of running someone off the road implies that we are not talking about a simple forgetting to lift the right turn signal lever.

Maybe an off duty cop? A Bounty Hunter? An FBI Agent?
Or maybe an ordinary citizen who is practicing his right to arm himself because there are idiots in this world. Maybe he has it for self defense and in his anger, he made a bad decision.
Whoever he is, he is, most likely, NOT a criminal.
I am glad that the idiot driver did not die, but I don't feel sorry for him.

However, I can rationalize how it can happen.
If I had it to bet, I'd bet $1,000.00 that this was not the first time this guy drove like an idiot.
Think about it, in order for you to be driving and to be driven off the road by someone else, that person had to do something more than just accidentally cut you off. I don't see how this could have been as harmless as forgetting to turn on your right blinker before making your turn.
Please, someone show me where I contradicted myself.
|
Even if he cut someone off everyday it's not a reason for someone to shoot him.
The guy that shot him had a short fuse apparently! What if tomorrow I'm driving in Olive Branch and right as the light turns green, my car stalls and I don't move forward and that guy is behind me. It might tick him off and he'd pull around me and shoot me as he drives by.
No excuse!
Carrying a gun is for protection - not getting even with stupid drivers.
