I am talking everyday life. Life can put you in circumstances where there is not a good choice, not a good option. Sometimes, we put ourselves in that situation.
As for "a time to kill", well....
"All scripture is profitable...."
II Timothy 3:16
"Do not be overly righteous...."
Ec 7:16
I mean, if it was "thou shalt not kill" and that alone, then why would God choose a military man to be the first Gentile to pour out his Spirit on?
I am not a murderer, but I have trained and have no problem with killing, under the right circumstances.
It's easier to make sweeping general statements and posture ourselves upon the cushions of lofty rhetoric.
It takes a real Christian to meet people where they are and a real God to understand that life is not always right or fair.
Sometimes, you have to make bad decisions.
