I agree!
Disclaimer, I am a 40 year old woman who has her own opinions and ideas about life and religion, so anything that I say or do on this forum has absolutely nothing to do with my father.
He knows I am on here, and he knows that we do not agree on every issue out there, but in spite of that, he loves me! And pretty much every one on here knows that I speak for myself only.

I'm not trying to be a jerk , most people on the forum know anyway, RM is my dad.

ok, it's none of my business, but who is RM? Am I allowed to ask that?

I understand. I'm an almost-40 man who happens to probably agree a lot with your father more than I disagree. But, even though it's implicit that we reflect on the people we know, and particularly our family, I completely understand that we each have to frame our own ideas. I don't know your complete world view on issues, but I like what I've seen for the most part.

Ron Mullings.
You wouldn't have any idea unless you had been in the UPC in the last 10 years or so Marge, you aren't out of the loop! My dad was the Dist. Supt. of CA for a number of years, and preaches around the country quite a bit, so a lot of people in the organization know of him.

As I understand, he really was the cohesive glue that kept the WD from splitting, as long as it did. I hear great things about him. I know my pastor lauds him, and esteems highly.

Thanks for filling me in, Diz. I've been out of the UPC for about 20+ years now, so that explains why I didn't know who you were referring to. Plus I never did know much about California.
EXCEPT, I did used to have a good friend to went to the UPC church in Orange. I've lost contact with her for a long time now. If anyone out there knows anyone in the Orange area and would be willing to tell me if they know her or of her, I'll be glad to chat with you.

Well, I am not naive, I know there are differing opinions on that subject, but I do know that he always followed his conscience and did what he thought was best for the unity of the church as a whole.

BTW, Dizzy This is why I refuse to fully disclose my Pastor's name or anything really personal about me. I would hate to misrepresent our local congregation and church on a forum where ideas can be all over the map. Something about letting my good being evil spoken of comes to mind. My own decision. Maybe that changes in time.

I understand for some he wasn't "progressive" enough with the District, and for others he wasn't "conservative" enough. Glad he wasn't listening to the lobbyists alone! I would agree with the bolded words!
He preached a message out here about leadership. It was incredible.

Do you have her last name? I'm not from that area, but I do know people down there.
