Our Maple Leaf flag was adopted & raised for the first time on Feb 15 1965!
It replaced an old colonial flag from our days when we were just a colony of Great Britain!
Some have proposed having a national holiday on that date as there is a long stretch of no holidays from Jan 1 to Easter!

A few, a lot of our famous forefathers, or early settlers were Scottish & a liot of places are named after them.
Fraser river, Burnaby, Sir James Douglas was first Governor of B.C. when it was a
Territory.
Sir Alex MacDonald was our first Prime Minster.

You know since Canada was once a colony of Britian you guys are considered a Democratic govt. where England is not.
