HO - I have seen that too. It happened many times at youth camp.
It doesn't take away from the legit times though, but it does happen.

A lot shocks me, although it shouldn't.
I was at a church that encouraged coughing and vomiting in children they were teaching how to pray. I left the service watching it happen one night.
I know those things happen naturally at times to people, but I don't think we should teach children to cough and vomit while praying.

I didn't read all the posts so perhaps someone has already said this. But doesn't KH's recounting of this meeting seem somewhat elitist?

Re: TRANSRIPT Of Message By HANEY!!!!!!!!!!!!
What bothers me is that people tolerate this kind of behavior. There are things which should NOT be messed with. Salvation/HGB is one of those things. Someone needs to go to that pastor and call him up short! Someone in his congregation needs to tell him that what he is doing is NOT pleasing to God and that he is playing God himself.
I did that very thing to a very well known UPCI evangelist, whom all on this board would know. He pulled that trick on a young man in the church I pastored. I was HOT. I called him into the pastor's office and asked if I could talk to him. I kept my cool and didn't come uncorked, but I was very firm in stating what I thought was wrong and told him that I was not alone in my thoughts on this but that most folks were afraid to say anything. Since he was the one who left me with the problem, I was not afraid to speak to him. I did not threaten or "curse him. I was clear that I did not agree with it and that I did not think it was biblical etc. We agreed to disagree and parted without anyone losing their temper. I will not disclose his name even via PM, so don't ask!

The Black Holiness Movement has always been into tarrying services and they ALLLLLLLLLL are conducted alike. Now you've learned something new.
Oh, and lets not forget tarry and purge night. Lord knows the old school holiness church loved purging services. (yuck) lol.

Those purging services are just too much.
I've seen it since I was a child (even in my church) and thought it was both gross and unbiblical.
where does it say someone needs to throw up and foam at the mouth to get purged from sin ??
I don't call that deliverance

Scotty, sometimes people DO fake it out of fear and peer pressure. I have seen it many times. And I have also seen "ministers" tell people what to say and then after they do, they tell them they have received the HGB. This is eye witness stuff, not 2nd, 3rd or 4th hand stories. It certainly is not all like that. (thank God) However, when the kind of pressure is placed upon a person that the HGB is required or someone is going to hell, it places an unbelieveable pressure on them. Big difference between that and it being a gift, albeit an AWESOME gift of and from God!
I also want to know where in the Bible we find the practice of tarrying, (other than Ac. 2 for the 1st time) or a HG blow out, or any where an emotional display took place like takes place in many OP's altars? I'm not against those, all I'm saying is that we need to be careful what we say MUST take place and what happens spontaneously.

That's a play on words MOW. they asked him Questions did they not? so then they expect ANSWERS

I played for a church once, it was some branch off of COGIC but they called themselves a DELIVERANCE CHURCH. They hired me to come and play for a revival meeting.
They were trying to force people to vomit in a bag - people they felt were bound by something in their life.
It was awful - the sounds were awful but I did enjoy watching it
