I've heard that an AFF'er died while they refused to get up from posting to eat, sleep or go to the restroom.

Re: How to Save Money
My best recent deals:
There is a radio staion that does half off deals. You can get , for example, $50.00 worth of dining for $25.00 plus tax. Well, they just had a great clearance sale! 75% off! Here is what I got!
Summer Tubing down the river $50.00 for $16.25 (This includes taxes etc.)
Special shoe inserts (my husband and son both wear them). $100.00 worth for $28.75.
3 hours of snow tubing for family of four. $72.00 for $21.75.
Local dining $50.00 for $16.25
Season Tickets to the Theatre Guild. There were 6 shows and 2 are over. So we will get to go to four shows (one this Saturday night!) $160.00 for $44.50.
And a local salon $50.00 for $16.25. I am thinking about the massage!!
I have been very excited about all these! Now, we just have to make sure to use them!

If you are a big reader (like I am) and don't have the money to spend on new books, this is great. I will buy books also from thrift stores, but this way you have much more luck finding the books you want. I haven't spent more than $2.50 for a book in over a year.
The first is Paperback Swap. (I actually found out about this site from one our AFF members signature!) http://www.paperbackswap.com/index.php?n=2
The next is SwapTree. You can also trade DVDs, CDs, and video games at this site. http://www.swaptree.com/WebFrmUserHomePage.aspx
All that you pay at either website is the postage for shipping your item!

I read a LOT, and I tend to spend a LOT at Books a Million; Eddie will be thrilled with this process. I have probably 50+ more that I need to list, but I have to go through them.

BUMP!!
I am totally in love with this site - I love to read and this is the perfect way to get rid of books I just dont need but they are too good to throw away or donate - you just dont know if someone is going to ever get any use out of them when you donate them
I had 5 of my books requested as soon as I posted them. I was trying to get my initial 10 posted and people had them on their wish list.
So exciting!!
I'm going to check out that dvd swap site too - what a money saver - especially if you have tons of childrens movies.
Has anyone ever burned a copy of their own DVD to view so they didnt get the original one scratched? I've considered trying that and letting my daughter watch a copy so it wont get destroyed - or colored on....

Re: How to Save Money
Now is the time of year to buy winter clothes for your family!! Stores clearance lightly (I call this "pretend clearancing") and then they clearance heavily. They are starting the heavy clearancing now. You can find huge bargains for winter clothing in almost any store. Remember, don't look at anything except clearance racks. Think ahead...not for spring or summer now. That is how they get you to spend. Think ahead for next winter. Buy your spring and summer clothing in the fall.

I picked up a few $15 items for Michael last night for $3 each. I'm going back tomorrow after church to check at Cato's and see what I can find for the girls.
Clearance rack shopping is okay-- if you can find some bargains.
I'd really rather have warm weather so that I can find yard sales again!! That's where the real bargains are.

It is true that yard sales usually have the best prices. I like to buy clearance new though and supplement through garage sales for my son. Boys are very hard on clothes. This way he looks nicer for school. For my daughter and myself I buy most of the clothes through Goodwill and supplement through clearance sales. The reason for this is that you can't try things on at garage sales. If the price is right, I will take the risk, but I like to have well fitting clothes. For my husband, I usually buy clearance new for shirts and Goodwill for pants. I only sometimes find things for him at garage sales. He has to look professional and nice for work. (I'm not saying you can't look nice and profressional with garage sale clothes....simply that they are harder to try on and you might have to sift through them unless you are very good at eyeing for fit, which I am not.)
Yesterday, I found my daughter some clearance clothes. I got her about 8 shirts for 1.00 - 1.50 a piece at Wal-Mart. Also some velour pajama pants for $2.50 each. Most of this was Valentine clearance (but not all) and the clothes don't look too Valentiney to wear other times.
This weekend I am going to J.C. Penneys. They have the BEST clearance sales of anyone for quality and price (that I know of!!). I am hoping to find a winter jacket.

Re: How to Save Money
I bought a toner cartridge for our laser printer (hey! remember that great deal for a $15.00 printer somebody posted out here last year?? We bought one!!) Well, we ran out of ink and I needed a new toner. I found one at http://www.quikshiptoner.com/catalog/ for $44.62 (that includes postage). At Tiger Direct, it was going to be about $85.00!! (With postage.) I searched for coupon codes etc, but this was the best deal I found. Anyone find anything better?
