I just wish the point could be accepted that just because something is discussed here doesn't mean the owners/admins approve or disapprove. We have stated the AFF Apostolic Definitions and we stand behind it.

We are here to keep the peace not censor what is being discussed.
Exactly, both ways. And be willing to listen. Some people can't see a persons intent because they have gotten on the emotion train and it's moving fast and not slowing down.

Apostolic is defined on AFF as:

  1. There is One God. This one God reveals Himself distinctly as Father, Son and Holy Ghost.
  2. The Son is God himself in a human form or "God manifested in the flesh" (1Tim 3:16)
  3. Every sinner must repent of their sins.
  4. That Jesus name baptism is the only biblical mode of water baptism.
  5. That the Holy Ghost is for today and is received by faith with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues.
  6. The saint will go on to strive to live a holy life, pleasing to God.

The only thing I object to in that quote is its application to the Bible. Truth isn't relative. There is only one truth about God and it's absolute therefore it's monolithic.

Ah, yes.......but only when ideas are challenged does that truth come to the surface.

The Reformation, I think, is a perfect example of that. The established church claimed that they had the truth and it was challenged. It was met with much resistance but truth pushed it's way to the forefront with the help of many who asked questions and, yes, debated the status quo.

But there is a self-evident truth, and as far as Acts 2:38 there should be no conflict of ideas for the Apostolic

You mean there are conflicting ideas regarding Ac. 2:38 among Apostolics? LOL
