What I object, violently, to is that, at times, people can say HARSH things and get away with it, but then when someone comes in defends what they believe just as harshly, they are crucified. Because they've been hurt by the machinery, they think that they are justified in "TRASHING" the things others hold dear.

I understand about people standing up for what they believe. I hope they do. I encourage it, but don't trash and bash and broad brush (I know have been guilty of this, but being here has taught me to weigh my words carefully!!! ) That goes for either side.

I literally HATE the labels. Let's all just be friends and have some lively discussions. Let's stop the bashing on BOTH sides of the coin.

I'm all for that.

But, the real issue at hand is this - you are saying you don't respect their view or how they interpret scripture to say you are lost.

If we have two opposing views - who is right? Do we only respect your view and that you don't agree with their interpretation? Or do we also respect their view and interpretation? What do we do in this case?
Therein lies the problem.

Amen! The words I highlighted in bold are true and we may make some headway down the road - someday - hopefully in the near future.

I can, emphatically, say FCF, NFCF, GNC and AFF have really trained me to try and listen to see another person's point of view. Not that I am perfect and have always done my best, but I try!

Simple - we use our reading comprehension skills.

I'm not trying to be sarcastic, but the Bible is very clear on what issues are salvic.

For a person to say that a man is going to hell for having facial hair (Just one example) it's plain ridiculous.

If that person said "In an effort to please God, I feel convicted of wearing a beard, and so I won't and I don't think any Christian man should" I have no problem with that.

To say "You're going to hell if you're a man with a beard" that's absolutely ridiculous.

I don't like the labels either.

Another thing that I believe is a problem here too is we are very familiar with each other......it's a good thing, but because of it we also sometimes don't listen to the poster because we already have in our mind what we think they are saying.

I see this happening 9 times out of 10. I'd love to experiment with it sometimes if I could. I bet the same thing could be said by two different people and taken differently because of who said it and not what was being said. Make sense?

That's me too. I may not always agree, but at least I try to keep the judging out of the picture. The Bible says to work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.

Emotions sometimes runs rampart. But for the most part I don't think this board is out to slam the ultrcon. I hate they feel they have been ganged upon, but I think the feeling is that way because so many of them have left. Who is going to stay and defend their beliefs if they all run away?

Any issue should be able to be discussed without insult to either side, and especially from Christians.

We can only hope we would all feel that way.
