Brother Hoover, I'm not saying they are the same on a level of truth.

They are the same on a level that they both are ridiculed.

Look, through history, see what we still have with us. Jehovah Witnesses, were part of the Millerite movement, and was an offshoot of the Adventist.
Mormons came out of the second great awakening. All I'm trying to say is that groups (in this country especially) continue to morph and split and grow, and keep creating more schisms.

William Marion Branham still has followers around the world, and more groups have split off from those groups.

We all think "magic hair" is hysterical, but there are people who believe it.
No matter what we say with chapter and verse, you are still going to have people who pray and lay their hair over MeMaw's wooden leg, and MeMaw is going to take off shouting!

You and I may think it's silly, but they don't care what we think. They will teach, and they will preach that what they are doing is right because they get results.

I find cultural studies to be so humorous and interesting, and how in this country, religions and movements flourish no matter who or what is coming against them. Today it's magic hair, tomorrow it may just be anointed chimney sweep ashes? Who knows?

Yet the dogs will bark and the trucks will roll on.

I am a firm believer in the Old Paths

Articles on such subjects as "The New Birth," will be accepted, whether they teach that the new birth takes place before baptism in water and Spirit, or that the new birth consists of baptism of water and Spirit. - THE PENTECOSTAL HERALD Dec. 1945

"It is doubtful if any Trinitarian Pentecostals have ever professed to believe in three gods, and Oneness Pentecostals should not claim that they do." - Daniel Segraves
