However the Bible does speak about being double-minded and unstable. Most problems with this type of situation arise where a saint uses the pastors and churches against each other.

Example... attends two churches and since one pastor preaches one way, but the other pastor preaches another way ....

Also, the early church is a bad comparison to modern religion; there were no "churches" back then as we know them currently.
