Have you ever been banned from GNC? I'm just wondering.

We have. it is for a houghty pridefuiul look.

2 rules. Do not use the scripture to directly discuss words that were not even first used when scripture was written. To get around that, study the related behaviors.

Rule #2. If scripture apppears to be a little vague, don't disregard your makeing major assumptions. For years gays insist thee is no reference to homosexuality in the bible. No kidding. The word was first used or invented only recently. The word sodomites is still there.

Now to the topic and not mere study methods.

Logic.

1. cosmetics in a line item in retail are named as HBA or health and Beauty aids. what are we talking here
Perfumes are mentioned. Eye salve is mentioned. I am unwilling to accept (assume)it was colored and used for appearance.
Lotions?
Lipstick?

The alabaster box was a womans annual income in value. It is logical that since we also find most except for royalty and a few, were to poor to use it.
You all even assume all could afford it in addition to it's common usage.

Obama's bro in kenya lives on a dollar a day. Tell us what part of that is aftershave. cologne, gel and razors.

I can go down the list and break out assumptions the cosmetics advocates expect me to accept. I can't google any better than you can and do not see it. I do read it was common in egypt for the wealthy.

I also do not forget the women oft covered their faces. If this was for modesty, it demands a massive leap that they would not only not cover their faces but paint them up.

If you argue all these decorations, then go ahead and argue the culture did not use various head and face coverings.

All we have for make up is every body is doing it. Is that how the emerging modern church operates?

Re: Cosmetics???

Coadie do you think you are going to change anyone's mind about make-up?

You have asserted some pretty silly things on this thread.

It seems you cannot stay focused.

You state facts, then refute them when asked about what YOU have stated.

To reflect the attention you fling out insults and accusations of gossip.

Re: Cosmetics???

Escherichia coli (commonly E. coli; pronounced /ˌɛʃɪˈrɪkiə ˈkoʊlaɪ/, /iː ~/), is a Gram negative bacterium that is commonly found in the lower intestine of warm-blooded animals

In the course of dining, we commonly wash our silverware. We don't use the same spoon time and again. It's a bacteria thing. But who washes their lipstick? Skin brush? Mascara applicator. I guarantee you if a patient gets a post operative moxycillin resistant infection at some poijnt they will trace it back and take cultures from workers, workers hands, equipment and even back to their make up and apparel.

Of course we all carry e-coli. It is in your mouth and you put it on your lipstick. Of course it grows and ripens when it hits the lower GI tract. Again the bacteria that entered your mouth are on the lipstick and take a trip to better grwoing conditions.

Think or better yet ponder over your favorite guy catching lipstick and it's bacterial playground. Do you tell the men that get a kiss? They use clean spoons but kiss lips that have lipstick that is infested with bacteriA? DON'T EVEN TELL ME THERE MUST BE AN ANTI BACTERIAL INCREDIENT IN LIPSTICK. iF THERE WASS, THEN IT WOULD CURE BAD BREATH.

Bad breath contributes to the bad odor of the accidental methane discharges.

I still only come up with the desire to create appeal and a haughty look as a motive in favor of cosmetics for the eye. To be seen.

The hebrew word used in scripture that is tied to cosmetics is to scoure, purify or clean. Maybe like a defoliant or cleanser.

Do you wear chapstick?

Does your wife wear chapstick? Does she "clean" her chapstick?

Re: Cosmetics???

lol...coadie...please tell this simple old missionary do you believe or not believe in using cosmetics?
and for the record....pride goeth before destruction and a haughty spirit before a fall...I know plenty of people that would not think of using most cosmetics but they are full of pride...
So the final judgment belongs to God and HIM alone.

No, not gossiping because I haven't heard anything. I just remembered that I stopped posting on GNC because of you! Seriously!!

It was like a cat fight to discuss anything and you were normally a little "in your face" with your posts. I haven't been on GNC is a long time and clicked over yesterday and there you were - same posting style. I thought, "Oh, it's that same guy!"

Anywaysss, I didn't want to be rude, but I did want to be truthful here.

( how ironic. Cosmetics are applied to get noticed )
You have no facts to offer in your post.

Rougue. It is for redness.

the french languages has only about 200 words as old as the time of Christ. Rouge was also inreference to lip color not just "blush"?
Oft times a product is discovered or invented and it is later named. The word rouge is borrowed from the Latin "the red place"

Again the point here is I am trying to go to history and see the words and if the products were not there, the words for them won't be either.

Biblical Hebrew has no words for makeup. Please don't expect us to consider they had it if NO one discussed it in Hebrew. The word pain is there. Again it traces to Egyptians.
