Envy. We see envious folks accuse people of pride. The underlying motive is to judge the target of their labeling. Some professions put their degrees on business cards. and Fellowship like FACS or other.
I have a friend i taught with that introduced him self at a reception having a doctorate and a woman decides to give her long detailed account of cholecystitis and he interupted her and said his doctorate was in history and he didn't know anything about gall bladders.
By the way. I am old fashioned. I work by referal and never seek any referrals at church. I realize sales people do as do some that network,
I am unlike you. I don't talk about what i do with people I meet and don't drill them on what they do. It really is not good manners.
Where you ever going to contribute on lipstick and other artificial coatings?
