Think of it as a blessing because if he is that kind of person you don't need to be there anyway . Perhaps God is using this to move you to a place where you can flourish more than you would have if you stayed .

GOD Bless and keep you

Sis,

Who knows why preachers do what they do sometimes? It is funny, the last 5 years I have heard of many Pastors asking people to leave, or forcing them out, or saying they discerned something.

My thinking on the subject is many Pastors are insecure and want complete loyalty, with unquestioning obedience and they are afraid of losing control if someone questions them or they feel threatened in any way.

The Bible tells us to go to the highways and byways and compel others to come. When the Pastor believes it is his church and everything that happens reflects on his leadership ability that is where the problem comes in. It is God's church, and he leaves the 99 to go and search for the one lost sheep who may be hurt, damaged, or distracted.

Pastors need a good dose of the Holy Ghost and knowledge of justwhat it is they are really called to be.

I am sorry for your frustration and hurt. I wil pray for you as I know just how you feel.

Blessings, Rhoni

This is true and words of wisdom. God moved me out of a church and a home that I was not meant to be in and has blessed me with a church and a home that can bless me and that I can be a blessing to.

God knows where you are and is making things come into alignment to get you where you need to be.

Be Blessed,
Rhoni

Get over it and let it go. Bitterness is the root of all evil!

To whomever is praying for me this morning, thank you. Just wanted you to know that there is such a sweet presence of the Holy Ghost here. Again, thank you.

Re: Why would a Pastor do this to me ?

I think there has to be more to this story. I am not defending the pastor but in the real world a medical condition like that would be discussed with the pastor (if small enough of a church where it is obvious when a member gets up and leaves early every service) and some sort of accomodation would be reached. Perhaps the ill person sitting in the back and slipping out or in, etc.

My gut just tells me there is more to this story, that we are only hearing a portion of the total situation. The treatment of this woman may still well be indefensible when all is known.

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.

"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.

"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

If a pastor tells a good saint to leave, it makes you say, "Why?"

If the second pastor tells the same saint to leave, it makes you say, "Hmmm."

If the third pastor tells the same saint to leave, it makes you say, "Ah-ha."

If the fourth pastor tells the same saint to leave, it makes you say, "Goat."

Thank you for your words. I agree bitterness is a bad thing. However according to God's word, it is the love of money that is the root of all evil. 1 Timothy 6:10.

FYI: I have only been a member of two churches. The first one from childhood until I married. The second one until I was asked to leave.

An Internet forum is a poor place to seek an answer to this question, but I'll take a shot at answering the question: "Why would a pastor do this to me?"

Most pastors are notoriously reluctant to lose good saints.

Does C.F.O. mean the "person in control of the finances?"

Most often when a person leaves a church and nobody comes to attempt to win them back, there's a reason.

Take a good long look in the mirror, and if you like what you see, wipe the dust off your shoes and go on and serve the Lord.

P.S. Your husband's a minister and it sounds like there are 50 people looking for a church, round them up, rent a hall, and call it revival.

P.P.S. If I didn't know why I was asked to leave, I'd ask the one who asked me to leave. He probably knows the answer; none of the rest of us have any idea at all.
